So I have my Plex set up to play external forced srt subtitles for movies with foreign language parts , and it works yet if i go watch a TV show the subtitles for that are on also even tho they are not forced , what can I do so I only have subtitles for foreign language parts in my movies and not my TV shows
Is your audio track not tagged with language? if it sees it as unknown then it will treat it as it foreign and assuming you have sub selection set to display with foreign language then it will turn on the subs.
So if it has audio as unknown it will display subtitles even if they are not forced ? Would there be a way to have forced Subtitles just work for one folder ie movies and not for another say TV shows?
They are libraries not folders. But no you can’t select that per library.
Sorry libraries my bad , shame , there’s no way to hard code subtitles with some Loss of quality either is there
You can set the audio tracks yourself. There are a few HowTo floating around here that will do it in batch and requires no re-encoding. Most of them are quite fast, processing dozens in a few minutes.
