Subtitles - odd displays

Hi - when I play files through Plex and select subtitles that are embedded in the files, these subtitles a) appear far up from the bottom of the screen b) linger on screen until the next dialogue and subtitles appear.

The font is also rather large.

The same files play just fine through VLC and other players, so I assume it is a Plex issue.

I accessed the subtitle settings pages but cannot find anything related to e.g. font size, position, time on screen, etc
This is not necessary for other players but I am hoping that the quite annoying subtitle display can be changed for Plex.

I cannot find any support or contact info on here, a bit surprising given the upgrade that I paid for, so hoping that someone has prior experience and is able to help.

Thank you!

thanks for your input.

the subtitles are displayed in a “normal” position and format when I use other applications/platforms, which leads me to the conclusion that there must be an issue with Plex.

Nobody is ever under any obligation to buy anything. I probably should have read the fine print. I simply assumed that when I upgraded to the paid version of the app, that there would be some form of support. But hey. It is not exactly big money. And there are alternative apps out there.

Hi again -
was simply wondering if anybody has become aware of a fix for this?

Subtitles appear in the correct position when the same files are played on the same TV sets using eg VLC and other media apps.

I am just wanting for this to work as I quite like many other things about Plex. But having subtitles right across the screen when I play a foreign movie, or when we for any other reason would like to display the subtitles; not so much.

Best wishes,

why on Earth should I correct files that work with every other app?
