Subtitles out of sync

I like english subtitles to help understand some accents.
Over the last few weeks many of my subtitles on current tv shows are way out of sync.
Currently my server is the latest version on a Qnap NAS and this outa sync issue has been around for 2-3 versions

I have tried several srt versions and options but often 30+ seconds out of sync.

Am I on my own?

Are these local subtitles which used to be in-sync
or are these automatically acquired subs?

Not 100 % sure but I do download most of my subtitles.

And I also cannot tell if they used to be in-sync cos I haven’t watched the show b4…
