Subtitles (unknown closed captions) in LiveTV Apple TV have to be turned off then back on to display

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033
Player Version#: 7.23

Well, I am finally able to turn on subtitles in LiveTV on AppleTV 4k (1st gen). However, there is a catch. I have subtitle turned on. And when I go to any channel it will not start automatically. When I go to Playback Setting it is check marked [Unknown (Closed Captions)]. If I select [Off] and then select [Unknown (Closed Captions)] again they then appear exactly like I want them to appear. Changing the channel is the same problem again with the same solution. Returning to a channel that has already had this performed still presents the problem and solution. So obviously the problem is getting them to automatically remember to stay on between channels and movies and TV.

This is a stark improvement from the months long problems with subtitles on AppleTV LiveTV that didn’t show the subtitles at all unless using the old player. So I am hopeful this is something that can be addressed to finish up the awful subtitle (closed captions) support the new player has had on AppleTV.

So problem in a nutshell. Plex for AppleTV does not activate subtitles (though selected) without needing to first turn off subtitles then turning them back on.

This also appears to be occurring now with any content with closed captions, not just Live TV. Captions is checked upon start but do not appear. Turn off subtitles. Then re-select captions and they will then display.
