setup:
Server is a nvidia shield. Player is on the shield. A second player is on a xiaomi mi tv android tv box. All software on all boxes is a current as can be.
problem:
on shield when subtitles is enabled subtitles will display for a while and then stop displaying. This fault occurs on different video files and can reliable be reproduced.
when the same video is played on the mi tv box the subtitles work just fine.
this fault has been on shield for well over six months – i had kept hoping it would get magically fixed.
i now use vlc on my media pc sitting next to the shield to watch video with subtitles as plex completely useless with subtitles ;-). vlc works fine with subtitles on the same files.
so actually everything works fine except when i use plex player on the shield!!
