Greetings!
Baffling issue I’m trying to figure out. While in the middle of playback, the playback of a video suddenly stopped. When attempting to replay said video, this generic message comes up: “An error occurred while attempting to lay this video. Please check your connection and try again.”
I’ll bullet point the facts here for ease of reading:
- Restarted modem and router.
- Setup is a Windows Plex server, where media is stored on a Synology NAS.
- Upgraded Plex server and restarted the Windows host machine altogether (after issue started).
- Restarted NAS.
- Local play, from the host machine itself, works fine. Remote play from another device (on the same network) fails with the error above.
- Attempting playback from multiple, separate devices all fail. Mostly Android based; phones, Chromecasts w/Google TV, etc.
- Issue only appears to impact media files that were already previously played? When attempting to play a media file that has never been played before, content loads immediately and without an issue, even on a device where previously played media playback fails.
Some searches of prior issues and tinkering hasn’t resulted in any fixes and I’m currently at a loss. Thanks in advance for any advice that may be offered here.
