Hi Everyone,
I have been a happy user of Plex for about 3 years now with no issues using my system remotely or sharing with my family in three different households. Pre-COVID I travelled frequently for work and had no issues with remote play all over North America.
Recently my parents have been unable to play any videos. I tested with my phone on LTE, and replicated the issue. Any video produces the error :Unable to play media". There are no details or error codes. Strangely, music streams fine remotely. I haven’t edited any settings for the server or clients.
My server runs on a WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra and all clients are Android based (Phones, Chromecasts, and Amazon Firesticks).
I have attached my debug log. Please let me know if anything additional will help. This has been plaguing me for about a week and I cannot figure out what is going on.

Did you get this fixed? I’m having the same issue on server version 1.21.1.3830 after I upgraded and now I’m regretting it.

I did get it fixed, but unfortunately I don’t have anything to share that can help the problem for you. I did update from 1.21.1.3830 to 1.21.1.3876 when it was available, but it was still not working, then suddenly about a week later it was working again.
I am still on 8.11.0.22186 for the player, so that was unchanged. I never did anything else, so at this point I believe this issue has to do with Plex’s servers for remote access and is an ongoing bug that seems to come and go.
I wish I had an answer for you . Hopefully yours works again soon.
