Can i get suggestions on apps/tools or even non plex related applications that make my library accessible via LAN. For obvious reasons i find it dumb that devices in my household need to reach out into the internet to authenticate. It becomes problematic when Plex’s servers go down and or i lose internet. suddenly my devices in my home cannot connect a server thats literally in the other room. Is there a application that can scrape/organize but run offline in times out outages?
That’s a bit of an issue, I Just just paid for a life time subscription opps, that’s a real over sight,
Google.com -> Plex alternatives. There is one in green, starting with an E.
Im not sure if that’s what are you talking about, but there is an setting in Settings->Network , scroll down, and there is an option called “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”.
I have set this to 192.168.0.0/255.255.0.0 , you can try and see if that works for you or not.
Which kills user auth so you cannot switch to another home user on that devices.
Im not sure if that’s true, but even if it is - i have no need to switch. So for me it works like a charm
I am sure, at least this was the case for me so I disabled this option as fast as I enabled it.
