Hehe. For years I have kept my Plex Server and library running, thinking it can be a savior when the internet goes out some day. Yesterday it did. Turns out one can’t even log in when offline. I can ditch this *** can’t I?
Add your local subnet under Settings>network>list of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth (for example 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 and click “save.”
Keep in mind that every Plex Home user is gained admin privileges in this situation so on Linux devices it is recommended to give the Plex user only read permissions to prevent them from accidental deletion over the Plex GUI.
