Hey everyone, I’m quite new to the forums, but have been using Plex for a little while now. AW it’s so good, I love it.
Just thought I’d make a few suggestions and hope I find them in future updates, would be cool to see :smile:

  1. When you click on an actor under a movie or TV show, you have the option to see all the other works they’re a part of in your whole database rather than just the particular library directory for example.
    Breaking Bad being under TV shows and clicking Bryan Cranston’s profile under Breaking bad and only seeing what he’s in only under the TV shows section rather than all databases, movies etc, combined.

  2. Give suggestions for similar movies/TV shows YOU DON’T HAVE when you click a movie OR

  3. Give suggestions for similar movies/TV shows YOU DON’T HAVE when you click an actor…

  4. Have an option to find subtitles for the media you have through an online search directly through Plex.

It would be nice to have a better TV Show Actor Function - it really sucks at the moment.
RARflix got the Actor/Director - Cast and Crew function right for Movies years ago and it’s truly a wonderful thing. When you check Cast and Crew for a particular Movie RARflix snatches ALL the Movies in ANY Library (I have 26 assorted libraries), displaying a list, from which you can continue to click Cast and Crew drilling for more info, then back out to where you started. It’s great!

Unfortunately RARflix ONLY works on Rokus and it’s no longer in development due in no small part to it’s developer being hired to work for Plex in the Roku wing. Again, unfortunately, a sane Cast and Crew operation continues to elude these apps - even though the guy that created a GREAT THING is working right there in the building!

This seems like ‘the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing’ - or - upper level management needs to read the chapter on ‘staying in touch with the user base’ and also the chapter called ‘find out who’s working for you and better utilize their talents’.

I’ll go along with that - even though it seems like something that would annoy the hell out of me - IF (and it’s a big one) Plex gives me a way to turn that discovery **** off, because, like MOST of the user base, we put this **** in our libraries, we don’t need (horrible) suggestions from Plex about what to watch next!

I thought Opensubtitles or SubZero already did that.
I don’t use Subtitles that often, so if they don’t come with the media I find one at Subscene in moment or two.
I have used Subtitle Edit to whip up a forced English sub track (cursing like a sailor) - when some idiot hasn’t bothered to include it with the media.
