I’ve just noticed something:
On the chapter Name the File Appropriately here shouldn’t there be the subfolder Blade Runner (1982)? Or is it intended to place the movie file into the root directory “movies” without his own named movie folder?

If you only have single movie files then movie folders in general are not required just recommended. If you have side car files like subtitles, images for posters, or if you are using versions then you should use them
if you are using editions they should treated like two different movies and you should put them in different folders if you are going to use individual movie folders.
such as the example in the article with multiple versions of the edition
/Media
/Movies
/Blade Runner (1982)
Blade Runner (1982).mp4
/Blade Runner (1982) {edition-Director's Cut}
Blade Runner (1982).1080p.h264 {edition-Director's Cut}.mp4
Blade Runner (1982).1080p.hevc {edition-Director's Cut}.mkv
Blade Runner (1982).4k.h264 {edition-Director's Cut}.mp4
Blade Runner (1982).4k.hevc {edition-Director's Cut}.mkv
You’re right! (of course) ![]()
I completely forgot about storing single movie files directly into the root directory. Sorry for bringing that up!
I’m used to create a directory for every item (makes it so much easier to manage side car files later) so I forgot about the “one directory for all movies!” solution.
Thanks for the reminder! ![]()
