Support playing fullscreen on external displays

VLC on Android has a nifty feature where if it detects an external display (wired adapter or wireless casting), it puts the device into a control-only mode and outputs video to the external screen in its original aspect ratio, not constrained to the aspect ratio of the device.

For example, my 7:5 tablet can play 16:9 video across the whole 16:9 TV without any letterboxing in VLC, while playing in Plex for Android letterboxes the video vertically to fit on the tablet, then the TV letterboxes that horizontally for a final image with black borders on all four sides.

With downloads I can kind of work around this with the External Player setting, but it’s very much less than ideal. Could we get better support for external displays built into the Plex player itself?
