[SUPPORT REQUEST] Please finally add support for Intel Avoton CPUs !

I never questioned your support nor efforts (why would you even bring that up in this discussion ?). But you are spreading rumors from nowhere and i just felt forced to remind it since one of the plex founders actually said otherwise, and i cant see why they would say so to their users if the plan is the opposite.

About not adding the simple word in the file, some things can explain it. Like, adding the word in the info file without actual support being pretty dirty (just saying). Anyway i hope the rumors aren't just a good intuition in disguise (they sometimes are i guess) and i keep my faith in what elan said :-p

On any 64 bit platform, which the DS-1815+ is,  32 bit support (all previous Disk Station models with Atom processors),  support is already provided by Synology natively.   That is the nature of 32/64 bit Linux kernels on x86 platforms (32 bit instructions were carried forward into the 64 bit processors).

It was never 'dirty'..  Granted, it was not compiled with optimization for 64 bits (which the "Plex New Transcoder"  a.k.a. FFMPEG really should have for efficiency sake) but it does run very solidly.   It  just doesn't run 'as fast and efficiently' as it could or should.

That said,   after having provided the manual technique for self-modifying the distribution to run on the DS-1815+ with no ill effects,   a summary decision to distribute Plex as a 32 bit application on DSM 5.1 64-bits is a no-brainer.

Citing one example of where to find comments regarding Plex,   look at Amazon.  Under the DS-1815+, look at the customer reviews.    That is one of many I've seen.

I would post the exact link but cannot seem to disassociate my ID from the actual link

They finally supported it!
