Does anyone have a list of the supported codecs that do not require transcoding with the new Plex update? I always downloaded my files in MP4 or MKV format with H264 and AAC. Never required transcoding on my Roku 4 or Roku Ultra. Now, it is burning my CPU (using at least 95% constantly) on every single file with those formats on both of my Rokus. I’ve checked my transcoding settings, and it is set to automatic.
Also, I have a playlist with movies that I turn on every night before I go to sleep. Now, it will literally play half a movie, stops, tells me the server isn’t available, and I have to completely restart my Roku for the server to even show available again.
I also have the same issue as I’ve seen here several times with no being able to access anything in offline mode. I was always able to use Plex before without an internet connection, and that was one of the great things about it since I don’t use cable. When Comcast went down, I could still watch any movie or show fromy server. I have a modem and router, and each of my devices are assigned static IP’s. All connections are allowed for Plex on my firewall.
It seriously makes me want to cry because for so many years, I was constantly telling people how amazing Plex was, and set it up for many coworkers and friends. Before the update, Plex was honestly one of the best programs I’ve ever used in my life. I really don’t care about the UI, I just wish it would work as it did before. I do wish playlists were easier to access like they were before, but again, as long as it worked, I don’t care.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
