PM:ed you the logs.
Thanks for helping!
@anon18523487 Hey there, I know you guys will be busy. I uploaded my logs 18 days ago and Iāve not had any feedback yet.
Sorry, I thought I had responded. Iām seeing 2 things in your logs now.
1 - Error related to DNS Rebinding. I thought we looked into this before.
2 - Error related to the database the app keeps to track Downloads. Have you tried an uninstall/reinstall of the app? That will wipe the database and start over.
Thanks @anon18523487
- We did look at this before, the logs I sent were from my iPad which wonāt work with downloads. But I have the Plex app on my iPhone also which works fine on the same network with the same DHCP, so this would be very strange.
- I have done this before. I can try again.
Iāve just deleted the Plex App, rebooted the ipad, re-downloaded the Plex App, then logged into the app and tried to download, it still doesnāt work.

@geoffairey Something isnāt right. Your logs are from Nov 17.
Out of curiosity what does that mean?
Last I saw, it was being ālooked intoā with a possible fix?
Infuse, Jellyfin, Emby no problem.
Even on a purely Plex front (for music) Plex Amp no problem.
Same music files on the native Plex iOS app will never download that same music.
So did I miss some update or magic fix as to why the downloads feature on iOS is so broken?
Other than we need to replace our router?

@anon18523487 Sorry, I grabbed the wrong ones from the folder.
āI thought we looked into this beforeā was because we previously ruled it out as a problem for me. Not the wider issue.
Yes, there is an issue with the app but users can also fix it themselves on their end if they donāt want to wait.
Infuse, Jellyfin, Emby no problem.
DNS Rebinding is only an issue when trying to use a secure connection within your local network. I donāt know if those other programs use a secured connection.

There are a few other issues we are working on a fix for but the most common one discusses in this thread is due to DNS Rebinding.
Did we look to see if this is your issue? If it is, either wait for the fix or try to fix it on your end as others have done.
Other than we need to replace our router?
If your router doesnāt have this setting, then it could be your ISPās DNS server. Change that setting to a public DNS server like from Google. Or wait for the fix.
I think itās Downloads that is dead,
Just d/lād iPadOS Plex App v7.26 and Downloads still not working (hangs at downloading)
Iāve put together a summary of the primary issues that we (Plex) are working on. Please let me know if you have any questions. Update on new Downloads feature
Iām mostly interested in Downloads for music, as Plexamp does not allow to download full library. Iām using Prism for that purpose. There are two things that works in Prism and do not seem to work in Plex Downloads : Play count and Star rating. The idea is that if I listen and rate to songs offline, once I come back online my play counts and ratings would be synced back.
Any chance those will be implemented in the future or itās just no the way you intend Downloads to work ?
I thought that does happen, but Iāll have to check.
Just updates to iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2 and Plex App 7.26
New Downloads still not working.

@Tony_T Have you checked for DNS Rebinding? issue 4 in my post above. Iām seeing network errors in your log about the app not being able to connect to your server to complete the download.
I have no connection issues with the old Sync method, nor when playing media on the App, so I donāt think thatās an issue.
The DNS issue is only specific to Downloads.
Ok, so, while I donāt understand how the DNS can affect this on a local server, I disabled my local DNS (I use unbound with pihole on a raspberry pi), and the downloads are now working.
What can I do to get Downloads to work with unbound (with pihole)?
So December is upon us, sync is almost dead. Are we any closer to fixing cast with the new downloads? Are we getting an extension on the deadline? Seem to be so many issues around downloads at the momentā¦
