Im having issues with download.
So far tried an 2021 ipad pro, a iphone pro max, all have the same issue. It appears to work, but every single video file tv or movie is incomplete. It plays but you only get some of it. not all of it.
I checked the server never crashed during.
MovieFan.Plex, any thoughts after reviewing my logs?
@phreaq Your logs showed an āunknown errorā so itās going to take a bit of work to figure out whatās going on. It looks like it finished the download. Can you check using the library view and see if the episode is there and playable? Iām wondering if itās just the items page having an issue with the status notification.
@anon18523487, the shows arenāt downloading to the device. If I take it offline, it wonāt play the episodes. Also, whenever I re-open Plex it tries to download the same show again and again.
Huh, the logs show it got to 100%.

Well, I see this has been mentioned before (a lot), but I just switched to download from sync on an iPhone iOS15 and an iPad iPadOS15, and could not download on the iPhone. On the iPad, I was able to download one movie and 1 TV Season, but now nothing would download.
There is only on the overview a possibility to download. With no function (download doesnt start). If you are on the film overview, there is no button for download.
Sync doenst work since update, changed to download, no possibility to download.

Just had a look on another mobile. There is a downloadbutton and it works. But on this Samsung Tablet it doesnt display a downloadbutton its a full white circle instead of a full withe circle with download-symbol. The download-symbol is missing as the function is missing.
Downloads are such a step back compared to Sync.
When I start watching a video that I have downloaded to my phone from the Home screen, Plex streams the video over the cellular network, even though the file is downloaded and I have selected Prefer downloaded content. How stupid is that???
I so regret to have moved away from Sync.

We havenāt tested on 15 yet, since it just came out. Please provide logs after reproducing the problem so we can see if there is something we can identify quickly.
Do you have the option enabled to prefer Synced/Downloaded content? If not, it will try to stream from your server.

Yes, as I wrote, that option is ticked.
Settings - Advanced - Player - Prefer downloaded content is ticked.
Or is there another setting?

There are a bunch of errors in your log. My guess is that there are enough changes with iOS 15 that this just doesnāt work. This is going to take some work to it working.

Having similar problems on an iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.1 Beta 2. Hope thereās an update soon. Spent the day traveling by plane yesterday and discovered that my downloaded vids wonāt play. Thanks for working on this!
So yeah, of course thereās no reply anymore.
And on top of that, the download doesnāt even check where I stopped watching an item. I have to manually find that spot. Absolutely awesome job Plex!
I am using the Download feature now, as on the tablet with Android, Sync was not working anymore.
When I want to download series episodes, no matter which quality I select, it will be always transcoded in 480p. Which is pretty pad for the hires display I have.
Only exception is āOriginalā then the huge full file gets just downloaded.
Plex Media Server logs do not indicate something going wrong, it seems the Android Player (8.23.1.28053) is always trying to get only 480p transcoded.
