Sync/recognize played episodes across servers

The idea is that if I have a show on three different servers, I can watch an episode on one server and have it marked as watched on all of the others.

It wouldn’t be easy to make this work for series that weren’t matched with TVDB, but I think it could work for those that are matched without too much trouble.

This is already possible, either by the use of the trakt.tv plugin

or this

Thank you. I imagine this is a useful alternative for many people. However, this would not really work for me.

It would be better to have the option built in. Building it in would also make the feature work for Plex Cloud which I do not believe either of these plugins would enable. Additionally, it would be possible to do this on an unrooted NVIDIA shield.

My actual situation is that I have one Plex server (an unrooted NVIDIA Shield) and a Plex Cloud which has all of the same files for redundancy.

These plugins could not be used on either server. Even if I added another server to the mix, the plugins would not be useful as it would not sync with either of my two other devices.

I don’t imagine I am the only one in such a situation.
