Sync says "The disk is almost full' when it clearly is not

As I look in that folder, I have more than the cache on the C: / SSD which would probably slow down Plex speed a lot. I was just hoping to Sync until I can purchase and install a larger SSD and hard drives.

By the way, on the posts above, after I created the junction, I did reset the computer to restart Plex, but it still didn’t work.

Can you provide the exact steps you did, because it does work when I tested? And no this will not slow down PMS. The transcoding for syncing only occurs when your PMS is not busy and the major bottleneck when transcoding is the CPU, not the hard drive, so even though you are using a slower hard drive compared to the SSD, you are nowhere near maxing it out to result in a slowdown.

The Sync+ folder on the C: has 3 folders in it. Will that cause a problem deleting them? The three folders are: 952274, 963664, and 1648735.

Sorry movie fan.plex, I did not see your prior post earlier.

Trying it now

Now it is telling me: ā€œConverted files cannot be written to the diskā€

I have done everything listed above, but now it reads: ā€œConverted files cannot be written to the diskā€
Now what do I do?

Sorry, did not see that this now has two pages and kept thinking my posts were being lost.

That sounds like a file/folder permission issue. Right click on the new Sync+ folder you created, and go to the security tab, then the advanced tab. Double check that you have full write access to that folder.

I do have full write access already.

Still not working

Is there ever any way to get help beyond just posting to forums back and forth once a day?

Not trying to be a smartass, but I count 15 posts from you on March 30th and 31st in this thread. Back and forth once a day ? What?

Breathe.

KarlDag, I now have worked on this for 1 straight week. I was hoping to have this resolved before tomorrow, but alas these are the problems I have had with Plex for years. I was just trying to do it this once to finally be able to download movies onto my devices. I would gladly pay to have IT support beyond once a day back and forth posts.

Even if they existed, Plex is not in the business of setting up soft/hardlinks… You’d get more help on a storage forum, I suspect.

I imagine you read this? https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/amp/

Sounds like what you’d want is a hardlink…

Will that slow down normal transcoding and streaming since the SSD was to make this faster in the C:?

No. I’ve never noticed any difference in performance between an SSD and a mechanical drive.
