Sync to USB

Please add a local USB or local Device option to the Sync menu for at least the Web client so that music can be sync’d to a USB. Everyone I know that uses Plex has been asking me… “how do I get the music onto a USB to play in the car?”

I could be wrong but I can’t see this happening. Plex is a streaming service and provides easy access to your content. It does not allow users to download your content.

A USB key isn’t a Plex player.

What I do is use the sync my entire music library locally on my iPhone so that when I’m out and about and don’t want to use internet connection it plays locally off the phone to car, headphones, anything etc.

I do the exact same, however on the plex web app you have the option to download any video, photo or audio file, i think it would be nice to have the same option on playlist’s and albums, but its a lot of work for something i personally don’t think a lot of people would use because of how easy it is to sync to a phone and just use Bluetooth or an aux cable in a car.

Plex isn’t a streaming service. It’s a media gateway. Enjoy your media on all your devices. Well, they’re missing the most common device of them all. Your car. I don’t know a single person that streams their music from their phone. Unless you have a TB of capacity on your phone I don’t see how that’s even possible. And streaming from the server would eat through your data cap after 3 or 4 days. Everyone I know uses a USB flash drive. It would be a simple addition to the software that would vastly expand it’s usability.
