I watch shows with my partner but we live in two seperate houses, it’s hard to know what episode we are up to.
It would be awesome if while selected in a series, click a “sync with friends button” then select the friend and then who’s account to sync from and BAM, our watched status is in sync.
Maybe even a keep in sync option, with an icon for both watched, or if someone cheated, could see just their icon and know you need to catch up!

Do you mean sync the ‘watched’ flag between 2 accounts?

Actually we watch together in the same house, hers or mine. But it’s difficult to know where we are up to in the series. So the sync is to update our watched status.
If I understand you correctly, you want the watch progress to be registered in both accounts when jointly watching a show on a device?
Yeah Correct, this in combination with my solution would be good, incase you forget to add the user before starting the show. But I like your solution to proactively stay up to date
I suppose syncing your entire watch history will also be misleading. So specifically identifying who’s watching something together suggests to produce more accurate results (especially if you’re not just using Plex to jointly watch shows/movies on our family tv but also listen to music on the go / while apart).
