Synology 1019+ "Playback Terminated" or "Transcoder Crash" Errors

Server Version#: 1.15.4.994
Player Version#: 2.1 (12235)

Today was a disastrous attempt to watch the Lego Movie 2 from my new 4K Apple TV for Mother’s Day. I kept getting a variety of errors - usually a transcoder crash error, sometimes a playback terminated, sometimes a “your server is not powerful enough to stream this”. Basically all of the errors. I’ve attached some logs here - hopefully they show something.

I’ve seen others post variations of these errors related to the Apple TV, but there are zero responses from anyone on the Synology team, so I wasn’t able to find a fix. What’s odd is that in another room, my 4K Apple TV works great with Plex. Both are hardwired over Ethernet; I thought perhaps there was a bad cable involved, but I put the 4K Apple TV on WiFi and still had the same error, so I don’t think that’s it. I’ve also restarted the Plex server, and even rebooted my whole NAS; nothing helped.

@trumpy81 any ideas? :slight_smile:

Amazingly helpful! Thank you. I can’t rip it again at the moment, but I’ve transcoded it to an MP4 file so we’ll see if that helps. Since I believe greatly in the “teach a man to fish” philosophy, which of the many files I uploaded in that ZIP contain the errors you found? I never know where to begin looking.

Appreciate it, thanks so much! I’ve never encountered a problem like this before, though I’ve only been running Plex directly on my Synology NAS for a few weeks now - in your experience is this type of error rare? Is the Apple TV a factor here? We watch most of our movies on a Roku Ultra, so I’m a little unclear if this is purely a Plex issue or if the client hardware plays a role.
