I followed the guide but the get this error message “this package is not supported on the platform of DiskStation or is incompatible with the current DSM version”. The ds119j also seems to be missing from the nas compatability list https://support.plex.tv/articles/201373803-nas-compatibility-list/ ?
I am looking for any examples (actually installable SPK files) of DS119 files. It would only take me a moment to determine what changes need be made.
I do not yet have one of them in the lab to work with.

Thanks for the response. I used to have the ds115j which had a lesser CPU which ran Plex just fine. The newer model objectively has better specs.
You must probably edit the .ini file of the package and change or extend the names of the cpus (Marvell A3720, try "armada V3720) the package is released for. Have a look into the thread for DS216play. This is probably the only hint why the ArmV7 package is not installable yet.

I have a DS119j too. I bought it because I love running plex on my DS116. Now I find it’s “not compatible”. Very disappointed to shed out money for something that there is no reason not to work. Does it have to be built specifically to this model or is there a way of fudging it on the box skipping this. Thanks!
Which ini? I’ve unzipped the SPK but there is only one ini in there and nothing to do with compatibility. Thanks!

open the armv7 package with 7zip and go to the info file and open it e. g. with the editor or notepad. You will see the following text:

In the last line add “Marvell Armada 3700 88F3720” or just armada3720. You must play around and try. Then save the edited info file and repack it into the package via 7zip. And turn of the trusted package and unknown sources option in the Synology package install options.

so, the DS119j is “armada37xx”
I used 7zip to “Open Archive”, right clicked on INFO and added armada37xx to the last line of architectures.
This got around the error saying it’s not the right diskstation. It then says the file is corrupted (presumably because I edited it) but allows you to continue but then fails to install. I guess it really isn’t compatible and needs a new version

Hi guys, any news concerning DS119j compatibility? I got the package installing clean with the recommended file adjustments, but the application will not run afterwards. Since the NAS is on the market a few months now, can we expect support for it soon? Thanks!
Working on it now.
Trumpy81 provided a test package for one user to verify.
As soon as that word comes back to us here, we will make the changes to add the permanent support.
I can then add it to the NAS Compatibility Guide.

Yes, with the provided ARMv8 installation package, the installation was successfull (and the app is actually running). Not sure if it’s ready for mass-deployment though, I think ARMv8 support is still beta or even alpha right now.
This will be fixed in the next PMS release (likely PMS 1.15.1)
Tried to install 1.15.1.707-d893009fb (February 21, 2019) on DS119j - negative result. DSM says that the package is not supported (((
Smb know how to install Plex Server on DS119j? I don’t need any transcode of content. Just basic direct play to TV

I also have a DS119j and i can’t install plex. I tried the ARMv8 package from here with no luck (not supported). Probably because it’s restricted to x18 series whereas DS119j is x19?
