Synology NAS plex media server is not accessible from ps5

Server Version#: 1.31.2.6739
Player Version#: 5.55.2

Synology NAS plex media server works fine with TV but does not work with PS5. Setup is made via docker compose. Everything is on the same network and connected via lan cable. PS5 plex app shows only that the media server is currently unavailable. No further error message.

Why are you using Docker on a Synology host when the native package is easier to use?

When HW tone mapping was first released, we needed docker
but we don’t anymore. All the libraries needed are included with PMS natively

How should this question help me with my problem?

I am raising this because:

Unless docker is configured correctly, It creates a layer of NAT which will make it inaccessible unless Remote Access is enabled.

If it’s on the same LAN, it will always see it when it’s claimed to your account whether RemoteAccess is enabled or not.

The native app is always on the same LAN as the Synology. it’s the easiest to configure from a network standpoint.

As I already described the PS5 app is the only one that does not see the plex server. TV and pc and mobile all see it.

Apologies.

You had flagged Synology.

This is a Playstation-only problem.

Moving to the players section where it can be seen.
