Can't connect PS5 or Smart TV Plex Apps to NAS over local network

Server Version#: 1.23.5.4862
Player Version#:5.4.2

Hi, need help.

Trying to connect from Plex Apps on either PS5 or Samsung Smart Tv to the Plex Server on my Synology NAS.

Both are on my local network on my BT Smart Hub 2 Router.

Server is set to prefer secure connections

Apps “see” the server, but say it is “Remote”, not “Nearby”. And then can’t connect to it.

Grateful for any help. Cheers.

Hi and thanks. Logs here.Plex Media Server Logs_2021-08-15_09-30-38.zip (6.3 MB)

OK thanks. Hopefully this is more helpful.

I disabled verbose logging and then:

Tried using the Plex app on my Samsung TV. - Server status was “Nearby” and the app let me browse the library. However, when I tried to play a film, I got a long wait followed by “Playback Error”.

Tried then using PS5 app., Server status was “Remote”, and it let me view the library and play the film - but presumably not directly on the local net.

Thanks again in advance for any help.

Cheers

HI - yup it played - today at least. But with the server showing as remote - should it not be “nearby” and playing via the local network

OK all devices appear to be on the same subnet. I’ve allowed without auth the 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 address - but I’m not too familiar with IPs and I don’t know if this is an IP address for any device on the LAN or if I should be putting in all the device IPs - which change from DHCP
