Synology newest builds are packed with unsupported format for Zyxel NAS (issue for firmware tar)

Server Version#: looks like, all versions after 1.32x to current

The firmware tar is not able to unpack the package.tgz file in newest build.
Install is going good after manually repack of .spk + package.tgz files.

tested with PlexMediaServer-1.41.3.9314-a0bfb8370-armv7neon_DSM7.spk

issue is for many users PLEX on NAS542 - Page 6 — Zyxel Community
but builds of version 1.32 or less have no any issues

Are you talking about a Zyxel NAS or a Synology NAS?

  1. Zyxel NAS is not supported.
  2. Over on the Zyxel forums, there is a script which installs the Synology version of PMS
  3. Given the post is dated 2021, I suspect it’s intended for DSM 6
  4. If this is true, DSM 7 packages would indeed appear as an unsupported format.

Regardless the root cause, Zyxel is unsupportedl
