Just wondering if anyone with T-Mobile home internet has had luck with remote service? I can not connect remotely to my server. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it!
T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and many other carriers use CG-NAT on their mobile networks, including their home internet offerings. Starlink uses CG-NAT for their satellite Internet service.
CG-NAT places you in a double-NAT situation and does not support port forwarding.
Ask T-Mobile if they offer a public IP address that supports port forwarding. You do not need a static IP address. A dynamic address is OK, but it must support port forwarding.
Note that Plex Relay should work in a CG-NAT environment. You will be limited to 1 Mbps streams (2 Mbps w/ a Plex Pass).
There are several threads on the forum.
Some mention using VPNs, the ngrok service, or other methods to port forward through a CG-NAT network. You can also search the Internet with “CG-NAT port forwarding” or similar terms.
