Plex introduced media files tagging, and a new feature that allows media sharing with other users based on tags.
For example, I can tag an image with “family” and “friends” and then give different users permission to see only one of those tags.
I thinks its very useful, but I have tons of images, and it would be very useful to be able to tag also folders, without tagging each file of the folder.
So if a folder is only tagged “friends”, PLEX should deny permission to users without that tag configured.
If a folder has “friends” and “family”, PLEX should allow only to users with at least one of that tags and stop checking each file inside it.
If a folder has no tags, PLEX should ignore folder tagging and work as it does now (checking each file tag).
