I was wondering if someone could help me turn off the automatic tagging, I have show episodes showing up as star wars movies, some being in japaneese or chineese the tagging at first I thought was amazing but its hurting me now more than its helping. Sorry if this is the wrong forum but can anyone help on this topic?
If you add your sections as "Home Movies" they will not use the automatic metadata collection.
However, it sounds like you need to separate your movies and TV shows and create sections of the appropriate type if you're seeing TV shows being identified as movies or vice versa. I can't think of a good reason things would match in a language other than the one specified in your section, so something must be going very wrong. Happy to check out logs if you care to upload them.
I see the log file location there in your signature but what do I have to do for the specific area of help do I need to re-add the shows to the server for it to show up?
Best to catch it right after its wrongly identified something, but for now you can try the primary agent log from the section that's giving you problems (most likely com.plexapp.agents.imdb for Freebase or com.plexapp.agents.tvdb for TVDB from your PMS Plugin Logs location).
I do like the home videos adding just the title, but don't like having to seperate one season from the other especially since the organization of my library that this service does is easily my favorite feature

Okay, then you'll just have to pay a little bit of attention to how you name and organize your files. It's fairly flexible, it just needs a little bit of help to get it right.
Well I tried to attach the logs but get an You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file error, did I do this wrong or should I just copy paste the log here?
Total newb
Okay, so it looks like you're dumping all your videos into one folder, then telling Plex it's a Movie section. At the very least you need to separate movies from TV (and create sections for each). If your TV matching is still problematic, you *may* need to also separate episodes into season folders (but probably not assuming everything is named nicely).
Done, and its still tagging movies that (it really shouldnt know at all what it is) as a movie I've never heard of before, Also a movie that was originally tagged right is now showing as a tv show. Tv shows that are now just all one series called dl.tv its literally 10x worse now. I added more logs because the one I put before didnt update with the last change but I also included that one anyway.
Okay, sorry, it seems it's still not set up quite correctly.
Make two folders. One should contain your TV shows, one should contain your movies.
Create two new sections. On the first, make it a movie section and point it at the folder containing *only* your movies, on the second, make it a TV section and point it at the folder containing *only* your TV shows.
It looks like it's still pointing one folder higher up in the tree (a folder that contains both your movies and TV shows).
Well everything is back to normal after creating the two seperat folders instead of sub folders...going to try adding the problematic files in and let you know how that goes.
The ones that were showing up as Chinese are now properly tagged and showing in the same series with correct thumbnails. The 10 episode season that 6 were showing as star wars and other 4 as unknown movies only ep 10 shows up but I'm not that worried about it because I don't plan to watch it anytime soon and will chalk it up to bad files, but if you have another idea of what it may be let me know I'll try it. Thank you very much for the help, the fact that the one series is working properly is great, and I'm definitely considering a yearly flexpass due to only knowing about this site for a day and a half and I'm already in love with it.
Also eps 1-9 show up in home videos so I will use them there for now
