This would be a stellar feature. +1
This would make it really easy for me and my girlfriend who life more than 2 hours appart to end watching series together.
Please develop this feature!
+1 this feature. Outside clients can take advantage of this if they were to VPN into the same network and Multicast was enabled.
Please though enable a force i-frame feature for when new clients connect to the multicast stream. If not depending on the GOV length they will have to wait some time when the first i-frame from an H.264 or H.265 stream hits in order to begin decoding. This would help increase call up time.
If you haven’t already. Please like the first post in this thread. That is the only Plex looks at the popularity of the request - as per the guideline.
This is a must have for a sonos or Mac airfoil synced music playback for whole house or large room multiple client / speaker setup.
Both those softwares are great at being able to sync the audio so there is no lag or perceived echo
This might be a bit harder to do for video, and I don’t think anyone has done it yet so no open source to plunder… Plex team would have to code that from scratch…
TVs with different frame rates and settings for audio sync method on each client will make keeping them all in sync a bit tougher nut to crack…
+1
Would be great to replace syncplay with a built-in solution.
definitely want multiple chromecast audio playback at least

Pretty sure you’re supposed to group your chromecast audios in the google cast/home app, no?

How about “Concurrent Play”
I would definitely love this feature if added.
As @te5s3rakt mentioned. I usually have media running in many rooms and would like to be able to go from room to room and have the same media playing in sync (Roughly 1-2 sec diff is OK).
And it should be also available for remote connections as well.
As I would like to do the same thing @Olsen.Nate@gmail.com did while deployed. That is to watch movies with friends around the country. (Or World in his case… LOL)
Don’t really need Poo-Mode (Or Pee-Mode for that matter) lol… Maybe Guacamole mode though!!
In thinking about this…
How would it work?
Could different signed on users sharing your plex server be able to join a stream in progress?
Would all streams being played by all users be available as concurrent streams to all sharing the server?
Would a concurrent stream need to be started by the PMS owner only?
Would there be a selection / switch that would turn concurrent streaming on for each stream discretely or would any stream started be avail to join??
Just wondering as I really have not seen much in detailed requirements here and I am sure there are more details than just the ones I mentioned here.
I would be willing to help with requirements and perform some Unit Testing for this project if ever kicked off.
This would be a GREAT thing to add for many reasons!!!

Oh and BTW I think if you are logged in with the same ID today… you can virtually watch the same movie on several devices roughly in sync.
Problem is currently each is a separate stream and all users must be logged in with the same ID.
I think I have seen PMS work like this if everyone is logged in with the same ID
Start a stream on one device.
Start a stream on the second device and select resume play.
The video will start roughly where the first was currently playing.
This scenario leads to concurrent play but certainly not very close to being in SYNC…

Beeing able te play the same music on different devices would be great. The same video would just be awesome.

Plus one! I searched for this feature today and ended up here.
+1 from me.
Tag me in favor also!
This is one of the things plex is lacking. It’d be great to be able to stream my plex mix across the house during parties, and have everything in sync.
+1 would love to multicast music videoes all over the house - PARTY TIME!
Hey everyone.
We’ve developed and released a 3rd party app that aims to solve this problem. Check it out here:
At the moment its only targeted for developers and people who are familiar with programming. Should have a more public release up some time in the near future
