I was traveling alone earlier this week and thought how great it would be if my wife and I could watch a movie together and have it synced. This gets my vote!
I would love this feature. Currently doing a trial month of PlexPass, but this feature could easily solidify my subscription for a long time.

Why is there no representation from Plex on this feature? For users like me transitioning from Itunes for whole house music to Plex, this is sorely needed. The product desperately needs the ability to play music to more than one player at a time. Also, when music is playing, all players should show the same art and status. Update please?

I love this idea. I have been sharing my server for quite sometime with family and friends and would love the idea of “showtimes” for new movies and have a movie night with everyone at the same time.

This would be great for me, i have a customer that would buy plex if it could do this. They need to be able to broadcast the same video to multiple samsung tvs in their martial arts studio and have them sync’d, this would be far less expensive and much more flexible than using a video matrix box.
+1 being able to play to multiple clients would be nice. I could play something while cooking in the kitchen and it could also be playing in the living room.

I would love this feature. I have tablets as media devices all around the house (with speakers attached) all running Plex using the music libraries. And multi zone/tandem play would be awesome!

Plex never respond to any of the Feature Requests unless they are duplicate or they have just been implemented.
The feature requests forum is just a repository of what we as users wish to have implemented and popularity is gauged by the number of likes on the first post.

I have a central sound system and get the audio everywhere but only the monitor in the main room where the Sound System is, is in sync. with the video. Definitely want to be able to walk from room to room and have everything synchronized.

I was searching the internet today to see if something like this existed third-party to use with plex and I stumbled upon this thread. I’m not sure why I didn’t just search here to begin with. Needless to say, coming from another plexpass user, I think this would be a fantastic feature to add to an already amazing thing.
I think I am going to investigate VLC Media Player. It’s free and appears to have the capability I’m looking for. Setup seems a bit tedious but it may be worth it for parties etc…

For me this feature would me really useful for music.
The RasPlex clients could handle various rooms in the house and with the ability from the Plex App to select what clients are all to play the same music throughout the house for a party would be really powerful.
Like having Sonos without the cost/mediocre audio quality/etc.
Some people seem to have had some success with the Logitech Squeezelite server.
