TCL Roku TV - DVR Shows Always Reset To Beginning When Fast Forward Used

As the title suggests, every time I attempt to fast forward (through a commercial or a part of the show I don’t want to watch), the DVR episode starts back at the beginning. Anyone else having this problem?

I’ll have to test this when I get home, but I will share a tip…

I always use left and right on the D-Pad to move around through commercials and such. Ideally, you should see the preview thumbnails while performing the procedure. The plus side is that it only moves each time you press the buttons, so there’s little danger of overshooting your mark. If you do, it’s only a press or two to dial in the perfect position to resume.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll give it a try. I’m having a problem with my Plex server HDD so it might be down for a little while. Let us know your findings when you test.

I tried using the d-pad (instead of the fast forward/skip ahead button) and the result is the same. The show immediately starts over. Anyone else got a chance to try this out yet?

For anyone else having this problem, I resolved it with a simple reinstall of the Plex channel.

After messing around more, I discovered the method to reproduce:

Settings > Video > Direct Play > Force

Auto setting allows fast forward/resume to work correctly on DVR shows.
