I have a Pixel 3 and all of my music playback on the new Plexamp app sounds very tinny with little to no bass and much quieter when compared to the regular Plex app. I am running the latest 3.0.3 but this issue has persisted since the first release. I don’t notice the issue much during Bluetooth playback strangely.
There is a Reddit post of other users having the same problem mostly with Pixel devices.
I have tried basically every combination of settings in the app and nothing has sounded different. I’ve reinstalled 3 times, cleared app cache and data, restarted my phone. Nothing has helped.
I know you said you tried all combinations of settings, but have your tried TURNING OFF Loudness leveling? Once you do this… clear cache and play something.
hmmm ok… i should’ve said my preamp is +4dB for reference.
i just played with these settings and compared to normal Plex… definitely a difference with some of these turned on.
trying turning the preamp back up to +4dB… maybe they knew something and set that as the default.
Can I ask what type of device you’re trying this on? It seems to be only affecting certain models of phones. Works flawlessly on Windows, Linux, and Android over Bluetooth for me, just my phone’s internal speakers are the problem
