When playing live tv, the app transcodes to 1080p. It doesn’t matter what the source resolution is. I have tried several transcode settings on the server and nothing helps. I have noticed that this happens on playback of recordings as well. This doesn’t happen on the current Apple TV app.
Also, time shift is not working on live tv either.
The guide data is wrong as well…it shows the wrong time underneath where the name of the show is.
Also, there is no option to delete recordings.
Edit: One more thing…on the current android/google tv and the firestick, it shows the signal quality when opening the time shift bar. Please add
Update 3/20/2025…there are now 6 builds and none of these issues have been fixed. When will these issues be fixed?
When I’m starting any 4K movie, there is an “HD” icon above the seek bar.
Also, I noticed that Dolby Vision Profile 8.1 always falls back to HDR, is it not supported? (I have Apple TV 4K 2022 and latest TvOS).
EDIT: I found that it was reported already.
Current build seems to be crashing the Plex Server instance on my Synology DS218+ as soon as the app loads This is new behaviour, I’ve tried rebooting the NAS however the behaviour persisted.
Server: 1.41.3.9314 (manual install on Synology, updating when notified by desktop client)
DSM Version: DSM 7.1.1-42962 Update 7
Plex App Version: 2025.5.0 (859)
tvOS: 18.3
Beyond that, the search function is a huge step down with no voice integration and the non-tvOS on-screen keyboard also feels cumbersome to use and slows each as you can’t use the iPhone remote app to type if voice fails.
Love the new interface, much fresher than the old interface (not that the old interface is terrible, I do quite like it)
TV Guide looks good, a little slow to load data however, it would be nice to have the option to merge the two Favourites Guides into a single merged guide (Plex Channels and OTA).
I am looking forward to seeing where the rebuild goes.
