My iOS client has updated itself and now when I try to play media from TVHeadend via live tv I get the following error
“ The operation couldn’t be completed.
(CoreMediaErrorDomain error
1718449215.)”
Has anyone else had this problem?
I know my server version is old but it’s the newest version terramaster have issues and the playback still works on Samsung App for my TV (5.91.0).
Mine will work after awhile, but it freezes the entire UI when trying to use it. So click a tuner… then wait a few minutes for the UI to respond again. Then click something else, wait a few minutes for the UI to respond again.
Another note to add, I’ve just pulled a docker image of the latest PMS and tested the issues with that too and exactly the same behaviour on both iPhone app and iPad app, so it’s the newest iOS client that’s a problem for me.
On the latest release I get a Network Error for an owned stream that I could watch on last version before this. I can watch the stream on Android and iPad (not updated) versions.
Are there any changes on stream tolerances?
i cant play live tv on my ios mobile devices (phone and ipad) i get a CoreMediaErrorDomain Code 1718449215 msg dont know what to do. Its the whole reason i have plex so my elderly mother could watch tv when she is with my sister in germany and even here (in the kitchen or sitting outside) but now its gone. No playback of live tv. I am so angry
LiveTV on my iOS handhelds broken, have plex pass w a Homerun HD Duo in a docker container on unraid and before this update eveything worked fine. After new update last week my iphone wont play live tv, I get the error message “a server with the specified hostname could not be found”, I didn’t change anything on my net. iPad on same network initially played live tv, now I get the same error on it as well. Shouldn’t have to jump thru all those hoops to downgrade for this to work. LiveTV on a computer works fine.
I can confirm that live TV is broken on the latest iOS app version on all my iOS devices (version 2025.15.0 (1053)). Server version is 1.41.6.9685, and live TV works fine via web access on all browsers and on the AppleTV (Plex client version 8.45 (9684), tvOS version 18.4.1).
On iOS I can’t access the live TV streams from the Plex server and favourite channels are supposedly „not available anymore“. I attached screenshots from German language version of the app where you can see that live TV on iOS app does not playback tv streams, but works fine on tvOS.
Why this version was rolled out to all iOS users is beyond me, this is what beta testing is for.
no that is not the issue. They changed the way the transcoding works. You have to disable direct stream / pley and then you can see live tv video but no sound opus audio codec is bugging out. no options untill they make the fix. the only way i foun to “fix” it is to use it to make atvhead end m3u and then use an app to simulate hdhomerun tuner with a new source video, so i just made a jellyfin server for live tv. they (plex) team really dont care about their customers. I have been postin non stop for days and in the end i sent a dm to a plex guy and he just replyed that he wont do anyithing untill he can see the issue on as a forum post?!!! But will they see it or are they even looking? Unreal
the latest version for ipad, i found the issue and its so stupid its unreal. The way they handle transcodeing on the new version of the app is in conflict with ios mobile devices. no fix in sight. if you are content with just seeing the live picture with no sound you just have to disable direct play and direct stream and then you get live pic (and that’s stupid for home network especially), but no soun (opus audio codec. Its all on plex staff.
I can confirm that the Opus Transcoding causes “no sound” when trying to watch MY Server Live TV channels on my IOS devices that will play just fine over WiFI (direct stream). I used my iPad on Wifi and Live TV gave me sound (Plex Dash showed it was using “direct Stream”. Turned off Wifi and restarted Plex using cellular to watch TV and got no sound (Plex Dsh showed Opus Transcoding). Confirmed it was not the cellular as the Wifi was using T-Mobile 5G Wifi Router (so 5G to TM Router then Wifi to iPad). Cellular was just T-Mobile 5G (no wifi portion). Any channel watched with Audio Opus Transcoding received no sound. Any Live TV channel with direct stream had sound. FYI.- All “Plex Channels” on Live TV had sound. This was only an issue with my Plex Server provided Homerun Quad Channels streamed.
