This is a big deal because I had done a lot of customization with things like “titles for sorting” that took hours of work! I’ve been using it for years with no trouble, but this is a bad hit! Is there any way to recover them?
I’m not aware of a general issue, therefore I’m curious how “removing your libraries” does manifest itself specifically?
Are the libraries themselves gone or just their content?
Is your server still listed in the More section of the sidebar?
Yes, the server is still listed there. The old libraries were all pinned and now appear with a warning icon, and selecting them shows no content. (The physical files are all still on the server, so that’s not an issue.)
How are you accessing your server?
Do you experience this using the hosted or bundled version of Plex Web (https://app.plex.tv/desktop vs. http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web or http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same machine)?
It happens with those web versions, but also all iOS and AppleTV players. On the server, when I look at the Settings → Libraries there are no longer any libraries there at all.
Here you go. I did start recreating the libraries a few minutes ago, so don’t be surprised when you see that. I got the message that there was an update on my player yesterday and set it to happen last night. When I discovered this afternoon that the libraries were gone, I manually downloaded the latest server and reinstalled it (probably around 3:00 today) to see if that would clear things up. Looks like your server had problems before you updated it.
There’s a number of references where it fails to write properly to the pre-update database and file system.
