The better of two evils

Server Version#: 1.25.6.5577
Player Version#:

So I’ve got 2 machines running.

early 2011 Macbook Pro (v. 10.13.6)
2.3GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
(This device is currently used with a VPN connected and it’s soul purpose is to procure media)

HP All-in-one (Windows 8.1)
AMD A6-5200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics 2.00GHz
4.00GB RAM (3.46 useable)
(This device is currently used as my Plex Server)

I’m wondering if I might be better off switching these devices around? The PC running the server is NOT even transcoding ready. I’ve resorted to using VCT to tanscode thousands of files losing quality. I’m defintely new to all of this and will without a doubt mess everything up without your help!

geez mate. you might want to buy a better computer. not being a smart ass but you dont even have enough grunt for a single 1080p transcode, besides the punishment you put yourself through running such slow computers.
seriously, you can buy a used Dell for next to nothing that will crush that crappy AMD cpu
