The "Continue Watching" section on the Fire TV lite will not stay current

Plex app Fire TV Version: 8.23.0.27973 (eabde95e)

When I back out of a show I am watching and return to the home screen the “Continue Watching” section stays exactly as it was when I logged on. I have to close the app and restart it in order for the “Continue Watching” list to become current.

Or it randomly disappears.

if you move to a different library and back does it update?

I tried that too and it does not. I have gone through the list of libraries but when I return to the home screen it has not updated. I will watch 3 or 4 episodes of a series but when I return to the home screen it will still be showing the original list from when I opened the app.

do you have “reduce motion” enabled in settings? (with it on it only updates screens when clicking on the library/source)

also when in a library does the CW on the “recommended” tab update?

The reduce motion was on. I disabled it and will reboot and try it out see if that helps.

Just FYI if i recall the reason that is enabled on FireTV is because some of them have pretty bad memory and the automatic updating of screens if navigating around quickly can cause it to use up memory quick.

Of course it could have nothing to do with issue.

Thanks for the suggestion @BigWheel but that did not seem to help, It’s still doing it almost 2 weeks later. I have movie and tv show playlists that I have previously created and noticed that when I go to my playlist category and open one so it shows the items contained in it, tab back to the home screen, It will then
update the “Continue Watching” section and display the correct play cue for me,
