First of all, I’d like to thank everyone participating and sharing their movie recommendations with the community!!
While last month’s movie might have been a tad too hard to find for some folks, this next one was a really big hit over here in Europe, and should hopefully have reached the dear brethren on the other side of the pond, as well. If not, please send some angry letters to your movie supplier of choice, because this film is truly a must film for every one to see. And I mean everyone

I know, you’re probably thinking “not another French film!”, but the last movie - while based in France - was actually a Finnish production, and of very Finnish sentiment. This film, while french, seems to have a very international feel. It could be set anywhere, in New York, Dehli, or Buenos Aires, and the story could work the same way. It is a really fun and very intelligent comedy, in this age where racial prejudice still is omnipresent, and the gap between the rich and poor grows bigger every single second.
It is set in Paris, and our “hero”, Driss, originally from Senegal, but living in the Paris banlieues (the poor, messy, and rough suburbs mainly inhabited by immigrants from the African continent), is looking for a job. The background of the character might remind - those who have seen it, of course, of the French underground cult film “La Haine”. But while the latter portraits the banlieues in a gritty, ruthless and black-n-white style, Intouchables goes the completely opposite way: quirky, fun, and very colorful.
Nevertheless it doesn’t only succeed, it shines its portrayal of the difference between the richest and poorest, and while, for once, not making us feel uncomfortable watching, and yet making us very much aware of how difficult, hopeless, and simply unfair life can be for those with less opportunities. For example, in a scene where he’s at home, try to notice how many people live in that tiny flat. Instead of knocking us over with pictures of the tough life those poor people have to endure, it’s those details that make this film great.
Everyone I know that watched this movie found it brilliant. And I agree. It is a must-see, if you like fun, intelligent comedies, that yet make you laugh your ass off the couch.
I hope you’ll enjoy this one as much as I did, and share your experience with the Plex community!
Thanks!!

Just saw this movie. And after seeing it, I was left with a feeling of wow. What a great story, and what a great ending.
The opening scene almost caused my gf to want to shut it off, but after almost forcing her to watch it and stick with it, the second scene and on, we were both hooked.
I can totally recommend this movie and have to say, that it is the best movie I have seen all year. Might be the best of 2012 for me.
Hope other ppl get just as good a feeling as I did watching it.

Will definitely watch this. Comments pending. Thanks for posting.
What can I say … This one really touched our hearts. After watching, it now is clear why this movie was such a sensation in France. For us a classic that will never leave our Plex library - must see!
While “Le Harve” just wasn’t really the movie for me, this one was really great. As others have mentioned, it was very moving and a great story. Funny, sad, happy, despairing, hopeful… it has everything - and the ending is definitely great. Very nice choice for the ‘Movie of the Month’! =)
I’ve seen The Intouchables, and it was a very inspiring and emotional movie with strong direction and acting. Two thumbs up!
