The old plex is dead

Or, hear me out, it could be that this stupid change that no one asked for and has been broken since day 1 is what’s broken. The only change with literally ANYONE in these forums has been the app and you’ve been running around accusing everyone of not doing plex right when you can’t even figure out how to make libraries. Get over yourself bud. We get it, you honestly think you know what you’re talking about with your 2k movies, but my man, I have libraries that hold literally 100x or more content than your ENTIRE SERVER, once again, you have no idea of what was lost because you have no idea what it could do, so please, I beg you, sit down, shut up, quit trying to tell people about things you know nothing about.

BTW 645 hour playlist, only 5 app reloads to get the actual playlist to open, maybe I’ll only have to reload 3 times to get it to play!!! I doubt it thought, since according to you I’ve completely forgotten how to operate plex like all the other folks around here, with the exception of you! Haha!

Well done, you have the biggest library. Now how about doing something productive and providing logs?

Well. This playlist is just peanuts compared to mine. But does that really matter in this discussion?

I highly doubt you have 200,000 movies on your server lol. If so post a screenshot of Plex dash as that is quite the feat and you have more content than Netflix Hulu and every streaming service combined.

Apparently you know nothing about your own setup if it’s broken and crashing idiot. I have no clue why you came at me so hostile and rude when my initial post was only relaying information that may or may not be useful.

Send the devs your crash logs (if they even exist) or quit crying.

lol go to Reddit and visit the datahoarder sub if you wanna poke around in other peoples ■■■■, I don’t have the time to prove to some moron on the internet that hard drives over 10 tbs exist and can be linked together to form a server.

And yes, I know full well how to use my system, apparently I know how to use it better than you do judging by the sad state of your organization skills. But I digress, once again, the problem isn’t on my end, the problem has nothing to do with logs, the problem has to do with the ■■■■■■ new app that doesn’t work, shouldn’t have been rolled out, lost functionality, and can no longer handle any type of volume. They want some help, here’s some helpful advice that will tell them more than my logs ever could: CHANGE THE ■■■■■■■ THING BACK TO THE FUNCTIONING VERSION THAT DOESN’T REQUIRE PAID SHILLS IN THE FORUMS TO MAKE IT SEEM SO GREAT!

How’s that for some help?

I also love how you’re so committed to sucking off the devs that now I am not only lying about the size of my library but the fact that the system keeps crashing. Like do you think that all these other people and I who are having the same issues are having secret backroom meetings to come up with new and inventive ways to insult plex? Like really dude? Get a god damn grip! Look at my post history, nothing before the app change, everything was working fine, they ■■■■ up the app royally and a bunch of other folks and I start complaining, but according to you it’s a grand conspiracy to defame plex or some ■■■■? Not that the devs came up with a ■■■■ app that can’t do what the old one does, nope, for sure everyone else and not the devs and everyone else is conspiring against it and whatnot.

I think we’re done here bud, I’ve got nothing left to say to some goofy shill who won’t quit telling me how grateful I need to be to the dev overlords. You can keep your “helpful advice” to yourself my man, feel free to scroll on by.

It does when you’re comparing the systems ability to handle a small playlist vs a large one, especially when the same playlist worked perfectly fine before the app change but doesn’t after the app change.

lol, no, I’m not helping them, if they want to fix this they can, they don’t need logs, they only need to roll back to actual plex we paid for and the problem is solved, easy as that.

You have never paid for a particular version of Plex. You pay to unlock additional functionality within free software.

Realistically you have 3 options:

  1. You can ■■■■■ and moan and stamp your feet like a petulant child but that’s unlikely to achieve much.
  2. You can grow the ■■■■ up and help yourself by providing useful information so Plex can identify and fix the problem in the app.
  3. You can decide that Plex’s new direction no longer works for you and move to a competitor.

I can add another option
4. getting my lazy ass up and write an PLEX clone that fits my needs perfectly

even if it’s highly unlikely.

Lol yeah because I forgot that expressing disappointment and frustration with a company to the companies “face” is somehow considered childish, you’re supposed to just let a company do whatever the ■■■■ they want whenever the ■■■■ they want. And believe me, if they had the balls to have an actual customer service system I would be talking to them instead of a bunch of random users on the internet who have no say in whats going on.

How the ■■■■ is giving them info going to help me now? they’ve already removed the functionality and ruined the whole setup, them getting my logs isn’t gonna fix the fact that they ■■■■■■ up the entire system.

and ■■■■ you if I didn’t pay for a “certain version” I was sold THE version, I was sold plex, this isn’t plex, that had basic ■■■■■■■ functionality and a decent usable layout, they took that away and gave us rounded corners and temu tubi, this ain’t the same thing by a long shot and no I won’t help the morons who broke it make it even worse and ■■■■ you for doing so!

BTW- I don’t hate you or anything and I’m not mad at you per se, this is all just unnecessary bullshit and i’ve said it before and ill say it again, they have the chance to turn this into a new coke moment, but I am pretty confident that the same company the rolled out this broken hunk of ■■■■ is gonna fumble the comeback as well.

It is when you do it in the manner of a child throwing a tantrum.

Yeah, you’re right. Why give them information which could show where and why the crashes are occurring, or point them towards what needs fixing to resolve it. Much better to keep that info to yourself…

It really isn’t that different. The issue is primarily bugs, with also some missing functionality. That’s what needs resolving. Once it has been then it’ll look different but it’ll be the same thing.

I get the frustration. It’s obviously less than ideal that the new app doesn’t immediately work as well for everyone as the previous one. But do you honestly think that posts in the style of some of your recent ones are going to make things better?
