Hi,
the PMS 1.23 download page offers the tarball for the RN2xx Netgear devices instead of .deb, see the screenshot below. Is that intentional?
TIA.

same here and this seems to be the case for latest PMS versions (see other topic)
the direct link (https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b/netgear/plexmediaserver-annapurna_1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b_armel.deb) did work though
yes editing the link with the right build number works but maybe Plex can put a link to the right file in their download page
and, maybe more importantly, a download prompt in PMS
The exact same thing has happened with the next update (1.23.3.4707). This is the second update in a row that has been uploaded with the wrong file type. Can you maybe investigate why this is happening and get it changed rather than us having to dig out the correct link in the forums?
I have had the same issue the last two times I’ve been advised of an update. It downloads a .tgz which is not recognized by my RN2xx NAS. It only wants the .deb file. I have been able to update by downloading the .deb package from the Plex.tv download page, but I’m not sure why they switched format when the devices they are for don’t support it (yet, maybe). I tried unpacking the .tgz file but that didn’t get me anything my NAS could use.
I guess until they realize they’re pushing the wrong format, I’ll just have use the notification as my trigger to go to the website and download the file from there. What a pain.
