Netgear ReadyNAS ARM v7 (RN2xx) update issue

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#:unknown

There seems to be an issue with the latest Plex Server update for Netgear ReadyNAS 214. Typically, it’s a .deb file - in fact, that’s all it can be. On the latest build, a .tgz downloaded and cannot be installed. If you hunt around, you can find a .deb file, BUT, the version of Plex server that installs is is ARM v7, but not RN2xx. It works, so I’m not sure if it makes a difference or if it replaces RN2xx or if there is even a difference. I don’t know enough about the app to know, but I do know that now I have two versions of the Plex server installed on my NAS now. The new build, and the old RN2xx (deactivated but installed). My ReadyNAS is currently up-to-date on the latest firmware build from Netgear. Any insight is appreciated.

Looks like the downloads page is pointing to the wrong file. Thanks for the report.

It’s not just pointing to the wrong page… it’s also a slightly different server… NOT the RN2xx version.

I have the same issue.

Here’s a direct link to the correct version. https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.23.2.4625-a83d2d0f9/netgear/plexmediaserver-annapurna_1.23.2.4625-a83d2d0f9_armel.deb

Thank you very much!

Thank you. Is there a link to a specific page within the plex.tv website where I can go to check the latest build?

this is not fixed and there seems to be another update to 1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b

Good evening,

I updated from the Direct Link, which updated fine but Plex would not open, therefore rolled back to previous version.

The download link is still broken (showing .tgz) and the link provided by @anon18523487 looks to be an older version than current 1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b that also has the wrong tgz not deb type.

Does anyone have the newest link?

Thanks in advance, and I love Plex and all the work that is being done.

I get the correct file using the link I provided.

Thank you so much

Well. I went to the web site for the Download link for the Netgear ARM v7 RN2xx dowloads and there is no link for that type at all. Also, the link provided at the tope is for version Version 1.23.2.4625 not the latestest version my server keeps indicating about the upgrade. The on it’s looking for is Version 1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b June 4, 2021. Which was released 5 days ago.

Intel 64-bit

And

ARMv7

The link is back, but not *.deb file for the Netgear server.

[ARMv7 (RN2xx Series)]https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b/netgear/plexmediaserver-r9k-1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b-armv7.tgz ← not an ARM 7 file

@anon18523487 , the link you provided has a .deb file. What @dchelfrich and @SlackBlade are saying is that when we all are logged intoour respective Plex accounts and the webpage shows that an update is available, the update link via plex.tv downloads a .tgz file. NOT only does the link at plex.tv download the wrong file type, it is an older build AND the incorrect server version.

We are all trying to determine, until the problem is fixed, where we can go to download the correct latest build .deb file for the ARMv7 RN2xx. If you try to navigate at the Plex website, for the Netgear ReadyNAS server, only the ARMv7 .deb is there; the RN2xx version is missing.

The website is incorrect at the moment, that’s why I provided the direct link. We are working to get the site fixed.

Thanks for posting the update link for ReadyNAS2.xx. Since there’s already another update out I will just wait for 4656 update to be available.

If you replace the correct version ie 1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b in the download link you get the correct one

i.e. https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b/netgear/plexmediaserver-annapurna_1.23.2.4656-85f0adf5b_armel.deb

4656 only has 1 change to fix something that was broken for Windows. For this Nas, it makes no difference. Running either version will be identical.

I do not believe it is the correct file, as it provides the non-RN-2xx series update when installed. I believe the RN-2xx file is missing. The link you provided is not for the RN-2xx. Thanks

This works. Thanks
