We’ve got access to the entire library of Tidal.
We’ve got the power of AI.
But yet, the Sonic Sage playlist is only capable of coming up with like 10 songs? That’s really weird and kinda makes the feature nearly pointless. Especially when every prompts cost you money.
If this is an OpenAI limitation, at least the playlist should automatically continue based on the songs already in it.
It’s a bit more complex than that. Usage is charged in tokens (see here), and larger responses consume more tokens. Effectively, the more tracks requested, the higher the cost.
We keep it short by default so people:
don’t have to wait as long for the results, and
don’t blow out their spending (see above).
The limit wasn’t put in place in code, it was put in place by the system prompt, taking care to allow it to be overridden by the user’s prompt. To override it, be more specific in your prompt, e.g. something like: Alt metal hits of the 90s, choose 30 tracks.
You can already achieve this by ensuring AutoPlay is enabled, and/or by using Plexamp’s Guest DJs.
Thanks for the response. Doing some prompt engineering to get some more results is a good suggestion.
For some reason, AutoPlay does not seem to work with Sonic Sage playlists. After the last song ends, it just ends and does not continue with new songs. And for the Guest DJ feature, I thought that only works with self-hosted music, not with Tidal? I never saw the Guest DJ button in any of my playlists (I have Plex Pass).
