"There was an unexpected error loading the dashboard" error & I can't fix it.

Hey everyone,

Last week I updated to Mac OS ver 10.12.1 and had to restore my HD also.

Now Plex won’t show anything in my selected folders.

  • I can sign in with no issues
  • It shows my users
  • I tried moving all of my files to an external drive and that didn’t help
  • Nothing shows up in my dashboard
  • However it does give me a number count in my “recently added”

Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks in advance

I have the exact same problem. Did you come up with any ideas?

LOL
Get rid of Apple… LOL

Unfortunately no one has offered any help.

Nope
Did not go on that forum.
Just gave my opinion from the post in recent discussions. Just trying to help and did not even notice it was the OSX forum.

Sorry I did not mean to offend you.

Just my experience with all apple products. (I have a MAC desktop and 2 MAC laptops.)

LOL I might be a ■■■■■ but most apple users I know are elitists (Including my daughter and generally arrogant Apple) as indicated by your name calling.

You could tell me to get rid of my Wintel boxes but that would leave me with just 3 underperforming Apple PCs.

Just suggesting that if you want Stable PMS performance get rid of Apple. All you gotta do is look at this board and per capita Apple users have the most and bizarre problems.

In My Humble Opinion you elitist P****

A Note: Apple By Far makes the best portable devices (Iphones and Ipods and Ipads. The watch is pretty cool too) But elitist and arrogant Apple sells them for Whore prices. I do love My ipad, iPhone, and watch… but for Apple PCs… overpriced boat anchors

You do realize you’re on the osx forum, right?

Not sure if anyone here searched the forum for the error text - but there are two main reasons that give rise to this

For both the Plex Media Server.log covering the time of the error would show the cause of the problem - if attaching logs please indicate what time the dashboard error was returned

Ill try this out, but optimizing fails to execute correctly. If the database is corrupted, im wondering what could cause it.

Also, Is it common for the logs dates to be this off??

With regards to the log file dates - are you referring to the files within a zip of downloaded logs ? If you are then this is known about and the zip is not maintaining last modified date/time

Just to update everyone -

I fixed my issue (finally) by deleting the server and then re-installing.

Note, I did delete my users and libraries first, but everything loaded up fast.

Hope this helps!
