There was an unexpected error loading this library

DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 6#:
Player Version#:1.18.5.2309

everything was working ok.

then I got a new router / broadband provider and I my subnet changed from 192.168.2.X to 192.168.1.X

I managed to change my IP address, but then spent a bit of time with the wrong DNS. and I couldn’t see my libraries through the plex web app. but now I’ve reset this 8.8.8.8, reclaimed the server and set up my libraries to point at my share movies/film and movies/TV. when I scan the libraries the activity monitor shows the files being scanned.

the alerts show:

  • 10:19PM Library scan complete: Extra information may still be downloading from the Internet
  • 10:19PM Scanning The Sopranos
  • 10:19PM Scanning Spaced
  • 10:19PM Scanning Rome

but when I go to the home screen.
the libraries show: There was an unexpected error loading this library

I’ve checked the permissions and plex has access (not plexmediaserver as I have seen in a few places.

I also think the app was just called plex previously not plex media server if that makes a difference.

any pointers?
