TheTVDB has started using lists: https://www.thetvdb.com/lists
Similar to TheMovieDB’s collections, I believe.
The biggest part of this is that Movies won’t be allowed as a “Special” (aka S00E01) anymore. I’m sure it will take a while to phase out all of the old stuff in the database.
I’m not 100% how this will be for some OVAs & Specials that might qualify as a “movie”.
Anyone know how Plex will handle this? Right now I don’t know a way to link a movie to a series in Plex.
In the past it would be something like:
Series S00E001 Title
I could manually do this in Plex but I don’t like that as a long term solution for every movie/special I’d like to link with a series.
I believe TheTVDb.com had lists for quite some time. Not sure about a policy change regarding tv-show related movies no longer allowed as specials.
Then again… simply put them in a collection inside Plex that has the same name in both the tv-show and movie libraries.
I was told recently from a mod that while they’ve had lists for a while, that not allowing some items as specials is newer.

I guess I’ll have to wait for Plex to figure out how to link movies and TV Shows. I was hoping there was a naming method or something for Plex to figure it out.
