This server is not powerful enough to convert video

Server Version#: DS16play, Synology
Player Version#:1.13.4.5271-200287a06

Hi all, I am using Plex on my NAS for quite some time and had no issues with it. All my videos were working fine. I am using brand new QLED Samsung TV or Xbox as clients mainly. Since a few days I started to have “Buffering” issues with quite a lot of movies. Movies who worked before without any issues or me changing transcoding / streaming setting now started to buffer for ages. (all LAN wired connections to server).
Now today the system further deteriorated and a movie which worked fine came up with the message “This server is not …”. I changed all video setting in the Samsung Plex app from original to low quality. Problem still exists.

Could you please give me some advise on how to fix it? Strange that this all happened without me changing any Plex setting…

Ok. Will do. Thanks for your help. I experience more buffering issues lately for whatever reason. Via TV or Xbox. Never had these probs before and didnt change anything.

I will get the info and get back toy you.

Thanks heaps

How do I get this info from the Samsung TV or xbox app? Had a look at the xbox one but it doesnt have the menu points you mentioned above.

Ok. I logged into the server via the NAS-IP:32400. Told me that there is a new version available for the server which does not come up via the Sunology package update. I will try to install this manually and get back asap.

Ok, had to look through quite a few posts as hte link provided by the PLEX server points to the wrong update file. I have the STM Monaco STiH412 on my DS16play which I had to find the right package for it. Looks like the ARMv7 (x15…) is the one my DS accepts. Updating as we speak.

Running 1.15.6.1079. Will check now if the issue still exists.

Problem with one movie in particular still exists. Was running fine before. Attached the logs for your reference.

This XML doesn’t contain any information about the audio track(s).
Let it re-analyze the file.

Reanalysed, reindexed library. Main movie media Info cant get info re audio

VLC media player plays file without any issue and as I mentioned the movie was working before and all of a sudden now the "Server not powerful…"message appears. Kids watched the movie at least 5 times if not more often. Never had any issues before…

Stream 0 as per VLC H264 - MPEG-4 AV (part10)(avc1). Video res 1920 x 808, Stream 1 Codec DTS Audio, Channels 3F2M2R/LFE, 48000 Hz, BPS 32

Maybe that helps?
Cheers and thanks heaps

It looks like for whatever reason PLEX is not able anymore to analyse the video / audio codec as it comes up in movie info with Video: None, Audio: None, Subtitles: None

This issue seems to happen now over numerous movies who worked fine before

Did you see Plex Media Server security changes for Synology users ?

no. Sorry. I have a look.

I feel like a noob now … yes… gave user access permission for PLEX back to the Library folder and all works now. Thank you soo much and sorry for wasting your time!!!

Cheers
Andreas

Out of interest: did you receive an email, informing you of the change?
AFAIK, it should have gone out to Syno users a few days ago.

Yes I remember this email. But I didn’t fully understand the impact at the time that this would disconnect my whole library.

Especially the file looked ok in the PLEX app and the “Server is not…” message came up. Only by logging into the PLEX server and playing with a few screens (metadata, analyse, etc) I saw a message saying something along the line “Make sure this file is still on the server”. Together with you reminder of the user change it clicked.

Especially as there are heaps of Forum entries re the “Server is not…” already describing a different issue.

My silly mistake at the end. But I am sure I might not be the only one falling into this trap.

But I still have the issue with the Buffering all the time. While I have the expert here  do you have a any helpful links to check how I get this buffering issue under control?

Would reducing the video quality in the stream help to reduce the buffering?

Please post a fresh media info XML. This time hopefully with info about audio and subtitles.

I have this error as well. I have a 4K video that is NOT HDR. I am trying to play this over my Apple TV 4th generation. Have not tried my 2 Apple TV 4Ks but I only have the 4th generation for my master bedroom. My HTPC is a 4770K with Quadro P2000. I thought the P2000 could handle this without issue. So why would I have this error message as well?
