Thou shall not pause

Hi guys,

Playing, stoping and resuming from stopped file all works, but if I pause a file for more than a few minutes, it gives an “unexpected error” when I try and resume that.

Anyone else getting this? Only happens on Xbone :-/

Cheers,

Ithiel

I've seen this during extended pauses as well, generally over 5 minutes. If it's only for 1 or 2 minutes it behaves as it should.

Have seen this too and agree it seems to have trouble after extended pause periods.

Same here.

I have not once had this issue and have had files paused for over an hour. Can you talk about your server, what OS it's running on, etc etc?

Not seen this either on my Xbox One.

Running latest official plex pass server release (not the plex pass test release mentioned in the other thread) on a Synology DS2413+. NAS is on a bonded link, switches are gigabit unmanaged.

Issue only happens if paused for a while but doesn’t happen “every” time. Hitting retry on the error screen normally fixes it, but occasionally we need to go back and come back into it to resume.

This seems to happen when the transcoder is being used - the same issue occurs on the Samsung TV client.

Yes, I've had this issue as well.

Same here.

Probably some kind of timeout from the transcoder which runs out.

I get this too.. I'm wondering if it's related to the intermittent "Unexpected Error" people (including myself) have been experiencing during normal playback. I'm working on getting some logs for that although it hasn't happened since I restarted my server (wanted fresh logs). After that I'll try to grab some for this issue.

...And since restarting PMS I'm having issues replicating the problem. Always the way; the problems only occur when you don't want them to.

Another interesting issue with this particular problem, when the error screen does come up - the voice command for 'Retry' absolutely refuses to work. I can invoke 'Xbox Select', which greens the 'Retry' option, but it won't recognise saying it. :-/
