Throttle by number of movies or hours.

I have spent 5 years digitizing my movies and have been using Plex for about 2 years. I frequently buy TV and Documentary collections from Costco (and other places) when they go on sale for dirt cheap ($29 for an 8 season TV series!).

I have several family members who cancelled Netflix and stream movies for hours each day from my server instead - and I don’t really mind.

However, I have friends who are now finding out about my Plex library and are asking about how they can ‘borrow’ my movies.

On one hand, I don’t mind letting 20 friends watch movies off of my Plex server. But I already have up to 5 simultaneous streams going at night between my 8 siblings/siblings-in-law. I am running Plex off of my home desktop machine, and I have a decent upload speed but it still slows down when 5 people are streaming. In addition, I am not trying to ‘replace Netflix’ for every one of my acquaintances.

I’d like to be able to let (almost) anyone watch 5 hours per month - or something like that. That would allow people to watch 2 movies or 5 tv episodes a month.

Basically, I’d like to see knew users rules like this:
‘[NUMBER] of movies per [TIMEPERIOD]’
or ‘[NUMBER] of hours per [TIMEPERIOD]’.

Clear as mud?
