If we subscribe, build a playlist, can we download for offline listening? I’m hoping someone knows this so I don’t have to join, try it out, then unjoin.
You cannot sync Tidal to Plex mobile apps. You can only do that with Tidal’s own mobile app. It is against licensing terms is why.
This is a dealbreaker unfortunately - I thought this might be “The One”: an online catalog that augments my local media, rather than the usual Apple/Google/Spotify method that keeps replacing my owned media with their own version. …and then invariably denies me access to it because of some licencing issue.
This is so close. If I had unlimited mobile data it would be fine, but I don’t. I honestly don’t see why Plex can’t access Tidal’s local media library if it can stream it online.
As mentioned above: it is determined by the licensing agreement from TIDAL. They are allowed to stream the content. They are not allowed to provide downloadable versions of the music.
