One of the main reasons I have had an Apple Music account for the longest time is that I’ve been able to upload any local files (that were not on the service) and integrate them with the music available on the service. This is why I jumped at the chance to do the same thing with Plex/TIDAL.
However, it appears at this point you can only sync music for offline playback from that personal library, not from TIDAL. I’m sure some of this has to do with the legal agreement the two companies have, as well as TIDAL just protecting their assets.
However, as someone with limited cellular data who loves listening on the go, and still wants that integrated library setup to be a part of my listening experience, I’m placed into a corner. I would love to fully transition to TIDAL/Plex because of the high-quality audio that comes with it, but until I can save TIDAL songs alongside my personal Plex library in the same app I’m afraid that won’t happen for a while. I’m sure many other Plex users are dealing with the same situation.
I’m not asking for anything more than what the TIDAL app does, but in Plex – the ability to save those large high-quality audio files from TIDAL so I don’t have to use a ton of cellular data on the go.
Thanks,
Matt
